Cape Haze: Neighborhood Safety Meeting with Charlotte County Sheriff – February 20th

The Cape Haze Community is a safe place to live; however, we have experienced a minimal level of criminal activity recently.  Thankfully, non of these events resulted in personal injury or were serious in nature but are warning signs for all of us to prepare ourselves and our community.  We are the first line of defense against our family, home, and property.

Sheriff Dominick V. Ierfino, Charlotte County Community Policing Division, will be our guest speaker on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 3:00PM.  The meeting will be held at the Cape Haze Community Center,  all residents are welcome and encouraged to attend.  He will share crime prevention strategies for us to protect our home and property, best practices to make our community more resilient to criminal activity and strategies to protect yourself, family and your property while traveling outside of the community.  Additionally, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s office is currently using a camera system that allows them to monitor vehicles (with license plate reading capability) entering and leaving communities in real time.  Understandably, there are usually mixed feelings about the government monitoring neighborhoods or citizens.  This is a great opportunity to address any concerns and learn crime prevention strategies.
