Administration
CHPOA maintains its Community
Center,
pool, reading library, property sales board, and
beach property for the benefit of its members.
CHPOA also collects and administers a Common
Area Maintenance (CAM) fee from property owners,
CHPOA members and non-members alike, to maintain
the community's common areas such as the entrances to Cape Haze, the fountain, and
the trees along the rights of way of all
streets. To learn more about CAM,
please click here.
The day-to-day administration
of CHPOA is accomplished by the Board of
Directors and other volunteers within the
community. The Board is elected by the
CHPOA membership and it reports to, and gets its
authorization from, the membership at regular
meetings throughout the year.
Facilities
The CHPOA Community Center is
located at 155 Spaniards Road and is used for
community activities and meetings. Any
CHPOA member can reserve the Community Center for
private functions as desired by coordinating
with Jeanne Corbin at 697-2274. Members
using the Community Center for private functions must
conform to the Community Center Usage Policy, a copy of
which may be viewed by
clicking
here. Users of the Community Center
must return the Center to a clean and
"ready-to-use" state after their event,
including the removal of all trash and garbage
from within the Center and disposal in the
containers located behind the building.
The Cape Haze Women's Club is
sponsoring a community service project to
provide supplies to local food banks. Each
time you attend a meeting or function a the
Community Center, please bring one
non-perishable food item or paper product.

Sadly, the Community Pool,
formally located at the Community Center,
finally reached its end of life in 2008.
Serious problems with the
filtration circuit and main drain placed
the pool outside compliance with current Florida
safety standards. Retrofitting to bring
the pool up to snuff would have been prohibitively expensive,
and consequently, the membership voted at the
January 2009 annual meeting to remove the pool rather
than spend any further funds on its maintenance.
The pool has been removed,
filled in, and grass has been planted in its
place. Future projects might lead to a
redesign of our outdoor space, but, at present,
attention has been focused on remodeling the
interior of the Community Center itself.
CHPOA maintains a Community
Bulletin Board near the Community Center for
listing homes and property for sale within Cape
Haze. Members may post their listings for
no charge. Non-members may post listings
for a $50 fee. For details, check with
Jeanne Corbin at 697-2274 or
CHPOA owns beach property
on Don Pedro Island accessible only by boat.
CHPOA maintains a boat dock for use by its
members. For

property,

The Library is located
within the Community Center and is managed
through a self-service honor system for check
out and return. Members can donate books
to the Library by contacting Nancy Fogle at
697-7946.
