CHPOA Administration

CHPOA maintains its Community Center, reading library, and beach property for the benefit of its members.  CHPOA also collects and administers a Common Area Maintenance (CAM) fee from property owners, CHPOA members and non-members alike, to maintain the community’s common areas such as the entrances to Cape Haze, the fountain, and the trees along the rights of way of all streets.   To learn more about CAM, please click here.

The day-to-day administration of CHPOA is accomplished by the Board of Directors and other volunteers within the community.  The Board is elected by the CHPOA membership and it reports to, and gets its authorization from, the membership at regular meetings throughout the year.

The CHPOA Community Center is located at 155 Spaniards Road and is used for community activities and meetings.  Any CHPOA member can reserve the Community Center for private functions.  Members using the Community Center for private functions must conform to the Community Center Usage Policy, a copy of which may be viewed by clicking here.  Users of the Community Center must return the Center to a clean and “ready-to-use” state after their event, including the removal of all trash and garbage from within the Center and disposal in the containers located behind the building.

CHPOA owns beach property on Don Pedro Island accessible only by boat.  CHPOA maintains a boat dock for use by its members.
The Library is located within the Community Center and is managed through a self-service honor system for check out and return.  Members can donate books to the Library.
